  3.         SOUNDBLASTER FREEDOM PROJECT
  4.

  6. The aim of the Soundblaster Freedom Project is to provide a cheap 
  7. source of programming information for the Soundblaster and other
  8. sound cards. Previously, programming a sound card has required a
  9. not inconsiderable investment in a developer's kit for each sound
  10. card. These developer's kits have been known to be terse and not
  11. well written. Our aim is to provide enough information to the 
  12. general programmer to allow them to add sound card support to their
  13. software at minimal cost.

  15. Currently I am collecting information on the Soundblaster and the
  16. Soundblaster Pro. Anybody who can supply sample code or hardware
  17. programming information is welcome to send mail to

  22. Please bear in mind that I am also pretty busy with a research project
  23. at the moment and may not be able to respond to your mail straight away.
  24. As time permits I will try to respond. Also please note that due to
  25. local developments, the SBF files are not available from
  26. wench.ece.jcu.edu.au or paladine.ece.jcu.edu.au as has been noted in
  27. previous versions of SBF. The only place to find the archive for the
  28. moment is on oak.oakland.edu in the Simtel-20 archive.

  35. There has been much interest expressed in the project, both from
  36. programmers and people with hardware information. Please help to
  37. contribute and make this project work.
